Known for the Return-It™ brand and the 170+ depot locations throughout the province, Encorp Pacific (Canada) is the not-for-profit stewardship corporation that manages the recycling of used beverage containers and other designated materials in British Columbia. With beverage container management as its core business, Encorp administers a consumer friendly and cost effective system to recover recyclable products from BC residents and businesses, and ensure they are diverted from landfills or incinerators. In 2011 Encorp recycled 987 million beverage containers representing a 79.8% recovery rate.
Encorp also provides its stewardship services on a contract basis to the electronics industry for the collection and recycling of regulated products, as well as the dairy industry to manage their voluntary milk container recycling program.
Due to the current CEO’s upcoming retirement, Encorp is in need of an experienced, forward thinking business leader with executive experience in a progressive, geographically dispersed business with multiple stakeholders to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for providing leadership, general supervision, and management and control of the operations of Encorp on a day to day basis in accordance with the strategies, plans and policies approved by the Board. You will work with the Board to develop strategies to ensure the ongoing success of Encorp in its dynamic industry, and manage relationships with the corporation’s numerous stakeholders.
As the ideal candidate you bring experience in a senior leadership capacity in a complex industry involving consumer facing operations, logistics and transportation with an extensive government and stakeholder relations component. You are future-oriented and excited about the prospect of bettering British Columbia’s environment through leading edge, responsible product stewardship while enabling major segments of the consumer packaged goods industry to meet their regulated obligations in a cost effective manner.
While Encorp has achieved significant success to date, the new CEO will not simply be tasked with maintaining the status quo. A progressive and visionary strategic plan has been approved by the board that is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking the challenge of managing important changes while not adversely impacting the ongoing business.
