As the Manager of Waste Prevention, you will provide senior leadership for the development and operation of ministry waste prevention programs including leadership of a professional team that develop and implement policies and regulations. You will lead the development and implementation of provincial strategies and frameworks to make BC the Canadian leader in preventing waste and reducing waste disposal costs to businesses and residents. You will build and maintain strong partnerships with a large and diverse group of stakeholders as part of your oversight and coordination role for province-wide industry product stewardship programs. You will make statutory decisions for assigned programs and be responsible for managing a program of monitoring, reporting and auditing to ensure their compliance with provincial laws.

Logistics Manager - Collection Network Expansion
Two Year Term Position
Our client operates a large scale collection & recycling system in the province. A talented, results-driven, logistics professional is required to support the expansion of their mandate to include the collection and recycling of used residential packaging and printed paper materials.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President and VP Finance, the Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the strategic planning, implementation and integration of these important developments into their existing depot and collection operations. The goal will be to build a cost effective logistics network using third party contractors in the collection of materials from a network of approximately 90 depot collection points located around the province.
Qualified candidates will possess relevant education in transportation and logistics and have had at least five years experience ideally involving multi classification, multi-modal networks. Candidates will also have experience in the use of decision support software, be team players and be familiar with the existing third party BC transportation grid. Some exposure to recycling and contract negotiations would be advantageous
