What do I do with a working fridge or freezer that I no longer want?
The BC Hydro Fridge Buy-Back Program will pick up and recycle working fridges from BC Hydro customers for free. After pickup they will mail you a $30 rebate. Call the RCBC Hotline for contact information for this program in your community. If you are not a BC Hydro customer, or if you have a working freezer, there may be someone in your community who is interested in reusing the appliance or salvaging it for parts depending on its age and condition. Call the RCBC Recycling Hotline to find options for reuse or post it on the RCBC Materials Exchange www.bc.reuses.com.
