Where can I take used motor oil?
Used motor oil, oil filters and oil containers are currently accepted through the Used Oil Recycling program, which is managed by the BC Used Oil Management Association (BCUOMA). The program charges an Environmental Handling Charge (EHC) on eligible oil products as well as oil filters and containers, which goes towards the cost of collection, transportation and processing of materials. Collection is facilitated through a variety of depots and other collection facilities, such as participating garages and retail stores. Participating depots will accept residential amounts (approximately 10L) per visit free of charge.
