Why does my local recycling depot insist on keeping my gas can?
Residential quantities of gasoline are accepted at participating Product Care depots. In order to maintain high standards of health and safety for the employees of these depots, gasoline is not handled on site; gasoline cannot be transferred from one container to another at the depot. As a result, the container must be left at the depot along with the gasoline.
You will be provided with a $6 voucher as a partial reimbursement for the cost of the container(s) left at the depot. There is a limit of 3 vouchers issued per person per year.
