Can I return my milk or soya containers to a bottle depot?

Yes. As of October 25th, 2006, the dairy industry, and Encorp Pacific (Canada), the service provider for other ready-to-drink beverage container recycling, introduced a voluntary milk container-recycling program. This program is currently being offered in select parts of B.C., and will be available to all residents as of April 1st, 2007. Although milk containers are now collected at bottle depots, since this is a voluntary program, no deposit is paid at the point of purchase, and no deposit will be refunded at the depot. For more information about the voluntary milk container-recycling program and participating bottle depots, call the RCBC Recycling Hotline, or visit www.encorp.ca/milk.
