How do I recycle my smoke or carbon monoxide alarm?

On October 1, 2011, Product Care Association launched the AlarmRecycle program for used or expired smoke alarms, carbon monoxide (CO) alarms and combination smoke and CO alarms. The program excludes units that are connected to building-wide monitoring or alarm systems.

The maximum number of smoke and CO alarms accepted at one time is 40. If you have more than 40 units, please contact Product Care directly to arrange a free pickup. Contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline or visit the AlarmRecycle website to find the nearest free drop-off location.
