December 2011 Resource: Presentation by Glenda Gies and Geoff Love (MMBC) at the CWMA Packaging and Printed Paper Stewardship workshop on December 6, 2011 October 2011
As a follow up to the various meetings hosted by the Ministry of Environment with the producers of packaging and printed paper, local governments and the waste management industry in the this spring of 2011, we are hosting a series of public meetings this fall.
The purpose of these meetings is twofold:
(1) provide an opportunity for the Ministry of Environment to describe and explain the regulatory amendments to the Recycling Regulation regarding packaging and printed paper, and
(2) to provide an opportunity for producers to get information prior to conducting their formal stewardship plan consultations (expected in the spring of 2012).
Consultation meetings have been held in Richmond, Prince George, Kelowna, Burnaby, Victoria and Nelson this past September and October.
Stay tuned for future consultation meetings.
