The Recycling Council of British Columbia invites you to:
Monday February 6th 5pm to 8pm
Vancouver Four Seasons Hotel, 791 W. Georgia Street
“Thomas Lindhqvist’s work in environmental economics is what our model of product stewardship is based on here in B.C.,” said RCBC Executive Director Brock Macdonald. “If you want to gain insight into EPR and have the opportunity to meet the most influential figure in product stewardship today, this is your chance.”
Thomas Lindhqvist has researched product stewardship policy since 1984 and has the distinction of coining the “phrase Extended Producer Responsibility” (EPR).
Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund University in Sweden, where he earned a PhD from publishing, "Extended Producer Responsibility in Cleaner Production". He has written extensively on EPR and is a primary contributor to the OECD's EPR work program.
The reception starts at 5pm with a short update on Manitoba’s packaging program from Green Manitoba’s Jim Ferguson at 6pm followed directly by an address from Professor Lindhqvist on EPR.
All are welcome to this free event. RSVP to rcbc@rcbc.bc.ca with subject line Thomas Lindhqvist Event - Feb 6. So please join us for an after work welcome reception for Professor Lindhqvist and 30 other product stewardship policy makers from across Canada. Come, enjoy, network and learn with RCBC.
