Waste Reduction Week for Schools

2009 Program for Schools

School is the perfect place to practice waste reduction. Students who learn about waste in their classrooms or run their own composting or recycling programs will be able to teach their families about how to minimize waste.

The Waste Reduction Week in Canada School Kit and Poster are a great starting point for any educator who wants their school to reduce the amount of waste they are producing as well as providing students with valuable curriculum based lessons that can become habits of a lifetime.

Why not also Register your school online to receive a hardcopy of the kit and a colour poster. Your school will also be listed on our website with others from across the country to show that you are making an effort to minimize Canada's waste.

We’d like to hear about your ideas and initiatives! If you have any special events planned in your community, let us know! RCBC would be happy to publicize these events to our members.

Join the WRW Video Contest

We need the help of Canadian students in grades four through six to show Oscar the Grouch the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling waste.

Waste Reduction Week is asking students to produce a video sharing their best waste reduction tip.
