Dear Member: The B.C. Ministry of Environment issued a Request For Proposals on December 30, 2009 for the development of a municipal solid waste diversion calculator for use by local governments within B.C. for assessment of their diversion of MSW from disposal (including diversion from landfill and incineration or waste to energy). The principal deliverables of the contract are: 1. To recommend improvements in order to update municipal solid waste diversion calculations through the review of diversion models in Europe and North America and the Generally Accepted Principles (GAP) for Calculating Municipal Solid Waste System Flow that is being used by Statistics Canada and; 2.
