2009 Conference Updates: Keynote Speakers

RCBC is hosting its 35th Annual Zero Waste Conference from May 27-29, 2009 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort.

Keynote Speakers: Lindsay Nahmiache and Brady Dahmer  

Lindsay Nahmiache and Brady Dahmer are the bright young minds behind Vancouver's Projecting Change Film Festival. The newest of the BC film festivals celebrates its second year through an innovative four-day event that promotes green and sustainable living with entertaining and educational films and speakers from around the globe.

Lindsay has a wide range of international and national film experience in the North American, European and Indian film industries. In addition, she been involved with the Cannes, Toronto and Vancouver International Film Festivals. Brady has produced and marketed events for the Toronto International Film Festival. Also the proprietor of BDD, a graphic design company, he teaches Art Direction & Design at Vancouver's Art Institute, as part of its Media Design Program.

Join us in Whistler this May, as these dynamic young entrepreneurs talk about the new age of achieving change through collaboration, positive action and entertainment.


Call for Presentations

This year we're focusing on Green Economics and the changes we need to make as a society towards a more sustainable economic and environmental model. We are seeking presenters who can discuss the coming transition from continual growth to sustainability, how to profit from the incoming wave of the new green economy and how to make the transition to a more sustainable business model.

Presentations should address topics within one of the following areas of interest:

  • Sustainable economics modelling
  • Business greening success stories
  • Sustainability policy & regulatory instruments
  • Innovation and change
  • Sector specific issues

How to Submit

Presentation abstracts, including a working title and a short synopsis, should be a maximum of one page in length and submitted to RCBC on or before March 16, 2009. Submissions can be sent to Communications Director Mairi Welman by email at mairi@rcbc.bc.ca, by fax (604.683.7255) or mailed to: RCBC, Suite 10 - 119 West Pender St., Vancouver, B.C. V6B 1S5.
