RCBC Recyclepdia 

The RCBC Recyclepdia is a on-line searcheable database for recycling options for over 100 materials in British Columbia.  It is availble on our website at www.rcbc.bc.ca/recyclepedia or you can download the mobile phone app for IPhone & Android at www.rcbc.bc.ca/services/recyclepedia-app. 

This year, we added 37 new materials to our RCBC Recyclepedia and BC Recyclepedia mobile phone app.  You can now search for recycling options for materials such as furniture, mattresses, organic materials, building materials, textiles, and new products covered under stewardship program expansions for electronics, small appliances, electrical equipment, and lighting products.

The RCBC Recyclepedia was launched in 2008 and provided recycling options for over 40 materials.  In 2010, we expanded to include over 70 materials.   With this expansion, there are now over 100 materials BC residents can search for recycling options. Since its launch, there has been over 200,000 searches by BC residents. 

Materials Exchange

The RCBC Materials Exchange (MEX) program is a free province-wide on-line service that facilitates the reuse and recycling of discarded products and materials.
